Our group offers an attractive research environment with access to high end biophysical intrumentation, research infrastructure and core
units at the Max-Planck Research Unit, Martin-Luther University (Institute for Biochemistry and Biotechnology) and the biocentre. The
research institutes of the Max Planck Society are committed to scientific excellence and perform basic research in the interest of the general
public in the natural sciences, life sciences, social sciences, and the humanities.
New PhD students of our group may become associated with a graduate school that organizes regular tutorials and workshops on current
laboratory techniques (cell biology, molecular biology, biochemisty and structural biology) as well as soft skill trainings. Group members use
to have high exposure to other leading laboratories throughout the world. Several projects are set up as collaborations with specific
laboratories or within national or international research networks.
